Konnoak Updates and Announcements for May 10th

Today is day 157(Day 2 of Specials)

  • Mission Statement: Konnoak Elementary School will provide a quality education in a nurturing environment that will develop each child’s potential and promote life-long learning.
  • Vision Statement: Students will learn and succeed in a safe, engaging, and caring climate of high expectations and supportive relationships
  • Dr. Martin reviewed some curricular changes that will be taking place for next year. I'll be going over those with SIT on Wednesday at our SIT meeting.
  • We received more budget information regarding the proposed budget that went to the county commissioners on Thursday. According to Dr. Martin, the commissioners and School Board are not on the same page budget and further negotions are needed to bring them together. Whether that will mean more cuts or a revision of the cuts identified, we will have to wait and see. The board will not adopt its final budget until mid June. At that point all budget reductions will be finalized.

8. 3rd grade will be called 1st to enter so that K/1 can clap for them. We will do the same for 4th and 5th. I would like to have Rocky music or "Eye of the Tiger" playing when they walk in.
9. The step team will be performing.
10. Please have your class to make pom poms, or design inspirational posters/signs to hold up or hang on the gym walls. If you plan to hang something up, please do so by 12:30 on the 14th, or give it to me!
